New painting

So for the last couple weeks we've been working on color theories and painting using color. anyways one assignment was to create a character and render it with the color theories we talked about. I decided to make this reptilian humanoid who was a slave, fighting in the pits, but when he earned his freedom, he became one of the most well payed mercenaries in the land. Hope you like it!

Environment and more edges

this week my teacher wanted us to work on a piece that was an environment. the only requirement was that it existed in the 'Prometheus' movie universe, my favorite scene was the map room from that movie so I decided to give it a shot. It took some time to figure out and get the lighting to look good. anyways this was last week's work. Hope you enjoy! After the value render I decided to add a bit of color too. :]

A little more presentable!

I was fortunate enough to have Chris Legaspi, a teacher at Gnomon critique my lightning wielding character after I completed him, and using a bit of extra time and some inspiration from his comments I upgraded my previous sketch/comic style painting to be a bit more(not completely) finished painting! Anyways I hope you like the updated look.

Rhabi- Spirit of Air. Complete!

I've been working this term on making more and more game characters! This one will be the counter-part of my previous character Kohlbes the engineer. This is Rhabi, the Spirit of Air. I really enjoyed designing and creating this character, he was very unique and kinda tricky to get his proportions looking right :]. Anyways here's the finished product of him. This is rendered just in the plain viewer window of Maya, nothing fancy, I'll get him into marmoset and hopefully posed soon.
For those of you who do know 3d, if you were wondering he is ~14k Tris with both weapons, with a single normal map, texture map, and specular map. a separate map for weapon/accessories I may happen to want to add in the future.

Hope you like him! I enjoyed making him, and hopefully will see him animated before too long
Until next time...
